About Us Set Design Location Clients Featured Publications Links Home

I am a Minneapolis-based Production Designer/Photo Stylist who specializes in the Commercial Photography and Filming of Home Furnishings Products and Interior Design.  While I was at the former Dayton’s Department Stores, now Macy’s, I was part of the Advertising team that set up the in-house photo studio. I designed and dressed sets for the Home Division White Sales and Furniture Home Sale Catalogs, and eventually became Creative Director of Photography, supervising all photography in both fashion and home. As Creative Director, I worked closely with the Buying Divisions and the Trend Merchandising Department, traveling all over the country attending markets and buying props which became a sort of ‘Permanent Collection’ prop room for all company stylists to make use of. The whole experience of Management, Merchandising, and Photography set me on a path to become an independent designer and stylist. Today my projects range from designing sets from the ground up – to large or small scale locations shoots. I have often felt  what sets me apart is my background in Merchandising and Interior Design which makes me an invaluable resource to clients looking for an updated look consistent with current trends.
Although I live in Minneapolis, I have worked on both coasts and many locations in between. I have designed, shopped, staged, and managed projects for manufacturers including, Norcraft Cabinetry, Merillat, Hunter Douglas, Andersen Window, Marvin Window, Pella Window, Jenn-Aire, Formica, American Standard, Koehler, Bosch, La Cornue, Target, etc. I have also consulted, sourced, and set up National Trade Shows for some of the above clients and have led Trend Seminars for their design teams.
I was a contributor to Susan Linnet Cox’s book, ‘Photo Styling – How to Build Your Career and Succeed’, (Allworth Press, 2006), and I was recently a featured speaker at Boston University’s International Conference of Food Styling and Photography, speaking on current trends in the Home Furnishings Industry.
In addition to Commercial projects, I have also styled Editorial shoots for Minneapolis/StPaul magazine, Home magazine, Cottage Living, and Renovation Style magazine. Check out the Featured Publications file to see articles about my garden and cottage which lately ran in the Fall 2006 issue of Renovation Style, and will be re-published in Meredith’s Before and After magazine in the summer of 2009.
I have a very talented and professional freelance crew to call upon from styling and production assistants to carpenters and painters. I also want to thank two of my dearest friends, Photographers Extraordinaire - Karen Melvin and Susan Gilmore, whose work represents the majority of images on this site. Please find their websites on my Links page and check them out!
I’d be happy to talk with you about any of the images on my site and / or discuss any up-coming projects you may have. Feel free to contact me by phone or e-mail.
